We're rounding out the summer in jubilantly depressive style at the 2nd annual HAPPINESS IS NO FUN celebration Thursday August 26. We'll join indie superheroes and party hosts The Secret History, the idiosyncratic cultpop of My Teenage Stride, and the fearsome and mighty KRISTEENYOUNG on the stage of Brooklyn's Knitting Factory for a celebration of all things toe-tappingly misanthropic.

Brilliant smorgasbord lineups like this don't come along very often, so come out for a twilight-of-summer evening that will have you sobbing happily into your drink for the duration. We're anchoring at 8pm, so get there early and settle in!

The Electronica4Life events are a series of nationwide benefits taking place in August with the New York City evening slated for Friday August 13 at The Sullivan Room. We'll be appearing alongside electronic acts Sonik Foundry and Level 2.0 along with special guests and DJs--full details can be found on the event's Facebook page. We hope you'll mark your calendar and come out to lend a hand to the effort!

7pm might well be early for a Saturday night gig, but not if you're catching a bill as intriguing as the one we're a part of at R-Bar on May 8. We'll share the stage with the euphoric dancefloor pop of Brooklyn-based electronic duo Infernal Devices (recent remixers of Passion Pit) and the Lynch-esque musical noir of Ida Long (newly-transplanted frontwoman of Swedish pop group Baron Bane). There's no cover and a select open bar from 8-9pm will quench your thirst at the midpoint.

It may just be the opening act of your night on the tiles, but thoughtful and worthwhile bills from top to bottom can be hard to find in this town, so get an early jump on your evening with an excellent few hours of free music and a beautiful bar to boot. We'll see you there, and don't be late--we're up first, 7 sharp.

The Dossier played some of its first shows at Spencer's legendary Ruff Club fete and we're excited to be part of his latest selection, alongside tracks of his own and offerings from other electronic artists like The Phenomenal Handclap Band, The Sound of Arrows, We Have Band, Flairs, and many more.
